About Us

FAB Boutique opened in October 2021, during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, at Jane Finch Mall in North York, Ontario. The boutique was founded by our CEO, Huzainatu Bangura, whose lifelong “passion for fashion” fueled the dream. The business was inspired by her late mother, Fatmata Adama Bangura—affectionately known as “F.A.B.” Fatmata, a mother of five, immigrated from Sierra Leone to London, England to pursue her dream of becoming a pharmacist. Her determination to chase her goals inspired Huzainatu to pivot in her own career and boldly pursue her vision of opening a fashion brand.

Huzainatu recognized a gap in the retail market for readily available African clothing. Traditionally, purchasing African attire often meant lengthy consultations and wait times with tailors. FAB Boutique set out to change that experience by offering customers a place to shop for authentic African fashion—ready to wear, diverse in style, and easily accessible. Our collections showcase a carefully curated blend of African designs, from traditional prints and formal attire to modern silhouettes that celebrate both culture and confidence. Alongside our Afrocentric pieces, we also carry unique, non-African statement fashions that embody the same boldness, individuality, and creativity our brand represents.

Proudly family-owned, FAB Boutique is led by Huzainatu and her eldest daughter, Fatima Bangura, who serves as the boutique’s Creative Director. Together, this mother-daughter duo channel their shared love of fashion and heritage into every collection. Born from love, culture, and creativity, FAB Boutique blends the richness of African heritage with modern style sensibilities—delivering ready-to-wear pieces designed to make a statement wherever you go.
